Project Description
In 2017, NBLC was retained by the City of Greater Sudbury to develop a Social Housing Revitalization Plan, which aims to develop a range of strategies designed to revitalize and optimize the aging housing stock. The development of the Revitalization Plan is guided by a thorough understanding of the legal framework within which social housing operates, the local housing supply and demand conditions, and extensive consultation with the City and other stakeholders. We also drew valuable lessons from the best practices from other municipalities in Ontario. NBLC is currently reviewing the entire real estate portfolio owned and operated by the Greater Sudbury Housing Corporation, using a series of indicators to categorize properties and summarize findings using a Strategic Asset Management Framework. The work will prioritize potential projects, offer preliminary redevelopment scenarios, and identify implementation approaches.
