NBLC was founded by Barry Lyon, one of Canada's most respected real estate advisors and a recognized pioneer in residential development analysis. During his career, Barry led market and financial feasibility studies for more than 250,000 housing units across the country and played an instrumental role in shaping communities throughout Canada. His leadership, integrity, and commitment to evidence-based decision-making established the foundation upon which NBLC continues to build today. Barry's contributions to the industry were recognized through his induction into the Building Industry and Land Development Association Hall of Fame, and his legacy remains at the heart of everything we do.

Today, NBLC is led by partners Mark Conway, Scott Walker, Nick Michael, and Matthew Bennett, who collectively bring decades of experience. Under their leadership, the firm has continued to evolve while remaining true to the principles established by Barry Lyon: delivering thoughtful, independent advice grounded in market expertise and real-world experience.
The leadership team has advised municipalities, developers, institutional organizations, housing providers, and public agencies on many of Canada's most significant and complex real estate and community-building initiatives. Their work spans housing strategy, development feasibility, policy development, market analysis, and community planning, helping clients navigate changing markets and build vibrant, sustainable communities.
